Using HD-PVR, WHS, and SageTV Client
I'm trying to use an HD-PVR attached to my WHS machine. I'm using SageTV client 6.4.6 on my HTPC and when I try to play livetv (a channel from the HD-PVR), I get a message about the audio portion of the stream can't be decoded.
After some research, it seems like I need to install the ArcSoft TME audio/video decoder on the CLIENT machine. The question is how can I do this? I've tried installing the HD-PVR software on the client machine, but no love there as it does a hardware check and bails. I was thinking I'd have to temporarily attached the HD-PVR to the client machine to install the software and then put it back on the WHS machine. Is there another way? I know there are plenty of people out there with WHS and a HD-PVR, so perhaps they could share their wisdom on how they setup the client? Thanks, Brian |

Installing ArcSoft without the hardware check
I was trying to do a similar thing. My experience was if you just install the ArcSoft package (by exiting out of the application that first pops up and then just pulling up the CD in explorer. For me: E:\tme\setup.exe
When I tried it, ArcSoft installed fine this way. Once installed, go into Sage Client and change the audio and video decoders to ArcSoft. Note, I think the menu in Sage says "Mpeg2 Video Decoder" or something similar. Even though this isn't mpeg2, I think that is the setting to change. (This is mostly from memory because I'm in the process of trying out WHS as we speak...) |

Thanks, I'll give that a try when I get home from work!
