SageTV Client: Very Slow Channel Changing
Hi there,
I've just setup my SageTV MC/Server and the first Client. The Mediacenter performs very well, changing from one SD channel to another takes about 2s. On the Client however this takes more than 8s. I already disabled my NICs Power Management and measured the connection speed between client and server which now lies between 65 and 110 Mbyte/s. Any suggestions how to improve this a little bit? Thanks in advance & regards lkw-peter |

I would like to know the answer to this too. Mine takes about 20-30 seconds or more to change channels on the client!!!

My client takes about 15-20 seconds to load up any new video or anytime i switch between tuners.
I can't seem to find any info on how to solve this... any chance it could be a buffer? Are there any settings specifically for the client that we can change to see if something helps?? |

I have the same problem and I've also seen others have the same problem.
Mine delay seems to be random...from 5-30 seconds. I have also mapped a button on my remote to be "Jump to LiveTV". This seems to give me a picture sooner, but the timeline then gets off when I jump back/fwd. Has anyone else tried this? -Brian |

I believe I have found the solution to this problem.
I installed the latest Purevideo NVidia package to my system and selected the Nvidia decoders as my preferred type in SageTV. Now my recordings and video display almost instantly. Yeah! Hope this helps!! |

Well, more info.....
Armondole - glad to hear you are back in business, but that solution won't work for me. I ended up having to reinstall the server code this weekend and guess what......it's all better! So, then I tried to copy back the wiz.bin file so I don't loose the recorded show information and BAM....back to being crappy channel changing. So, I then attempted to copy back the original wiz.bin file (before the first copy over), btu it was still crappy. So, I had to reinstall again, but at least it went back to being awesome channel changing. -Brian |
