I have a dual boot set up on my pc. Recently I let a friend talk me in to trying SageTV with my new Happauge PVR 250 card w/remote. Both OS's are on the same hard drive. There is Win ME and Win2k SP4. He installed it first on W2k and it worked with the remote with no problem. I decided I would install it on Win ME. However, when it was installed on W2k, it was installed to the program files directory on C, which was a huge mistake. So, when I installed the program on Win ME, it would only install the Happauge card without the remote (even if I checked the box to install, configured for the PVR 250/350 remote). I have uninstalled SageTV on W2k and WinME, then reinstalled. Still no success with the remote. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled WinTV and all the drivers (before hand). I make sure that I restart the IR each time before set up, and no success. I have a feeling that the problem may be fixable through the Sage.properties file, but am not sure in what section(s) and how. Any suggestions on what I may need to do next to get this fully functional? I would love to buy the program, but really need to get it fully functional first. Any help would be very much appreciated.

When you uninstall Sage and then do a new install make sure you check the option to install the extra files for Happauge remote or something like that. Its on one of the setup screens so don't just click thru them.

Did you make sure the irremote.ini file in your Windows directory has had the [SageTV] section added to it?
Does the [Default] section have a line like: GRNPOWER={run(<path to your SagetV dir>\SageTV\SageTV.exe)}{mode(SageTV)} Does the [SageTV] section have something like: GRNPOWER={ctrl}z{mode(Default)} - Andy |

Andy,
Excellent call! Never thought to look there (duh). Now that you come to mention it, there is no section for [SageTV] in the ini file. So, I take it that this is where the problem lies? How can I go about correcting this situation? -Mitch Gerry, Thank you for the advice. I actually did that several times to no avail. But, that's a great place to start. I wish it could have been that easy for me, but with my luck......LOL Mitch |

![]() However, you could always search the forum for irremote.ini, as several have been posted here in the past. You would then have to manually edit your irremote.ini to add the appropriate sections, but that isn't really that difficult. - Andy |
