How To Tell Which Encoder is Which in Sage.Properties
Had some trouble recording the Olympics. One of my TS encoders doesn't pick up the signal and one does. I've changed the merit to favor the good encoder, but it wasn't simple to tell which encoder to change in the Sage.Properties file because of the non-user-friendly numbering scheme.
I ended up setting different recording qualities for each encoder, and then I could see the association with the number in the file. Is there a simpler way to do this?

The numbers are there, but they're off by one. So
mmc/encoders/xxxxxxxx/video_capture_device_name=My Device mmc/encoders/xxxxxxxx/video_capture_device_num=1 appears as My Device #2 in the UI.

I see it now, thanks. It would be nice if we could name the encoders in the UI.
BTW, I have more encoders listed in the Sage.Properties file than I have installed in my system. They are boards I've installed and then taken out. Any harm in leaving these encoder lines in the file?

Actually, he asked if it was OK to leave them in.
But sure, you can take them out if you want. Just make sure to stop Sage before editing, and make a backup before you change anything.

The names are in the properties file but you have to scroll to near the bottom of each number set before you will see it. It's counterintuitive to see all the seetings first then the name, but that's how they do it.
