NFL Football game audio, from OTA recording?
I recorded the Colts/Skins game in HD format using the HDHomeRun (setup to use OTA tuning)
It seems like I noticed this happening another time when I recorded something from CBS. What happens is that I seem to hear most of the audio like you were at the game, and the announcers you can barely hear like in the background all the time. Its actually kind of cool because it makes you really feel like you are IN the game. You can hear the QB calling plays, all the grunting, the sounds of the crowd...the local announcer at the game, etc Any idea why I would be hearing the audio this way? I was listening to it from a set of headphones if it matters. Seems like it might have to do with the fact its being broadcast in 5.1 surround sound, and I am only hearing like the rear speaker audio. The commercials sound fine though. Just the game is coming thru this way. Just wondering if anyone noticed anything like this happening before. I havent recorded enough HD shows yet using the HDHomeRun on other channels to know if it just this CBS station or not. TOnight I will try to record a different HD channel and see how it sounds. |

Sounds like you are hearing just the left and right front channels. The Announcing is on the center channel, which, apparently isn't going to your headphones (makes sense). Where are your headphones plugged in? You may have to go into the settings for your sound card and tell it that you are listening with headphones, instead of 5.1. If you have a Home Theater Reciever, try plugging the headphones into that, as most recievers will downmix everything to stereo for the headphone output.
