Possible to get HD-PVR IR Blaster working in setup with other Hauppauge card?
I can't get the Hauppauge IR blaster that came with the HD-PVR to work when the drivers for my Hauppauge 1600 card are installed. I'm only using the 1600 for OTA, and only need the IR blaster to work for the HD-PVR's dish box.
Maybe this isn't possible, I know there are problems trying to control two IR blasters, or two boxes with one blaster, but I thought I'd read where people have been able to use HWClear and some specific order of installation to get the blaster working even with another Hauppauge card installed. Am I wrong about this? My installation order: 1. Use HWClear 2. Install HD-PVR (Test IR blaster. It's working fine.) 3. Install drivers for 1600. (Test IR blaster. No longer working at all.) Am I out of luck here? Second related question. If I think about moving to the USB-UIRT (which I don't want to do if I don't have to), is that as simple to use as the Hauppauge blaster? Can I just plug the blaster part into the HD-PVR the same way the Hauppauge works, or do I also have to install and use the IR receiver? (I'm currently using an MCE receiver.) And from looking at the webpage for the USB-UIRT and seeing it talk about Girder and stuff, it looks like it's more complaticated than the plug-n-play ease of the MCE/Hauppauge combo. Is programming Girder required, or can I just plug in the USB-UIRT blaster, select it within Sage, and start using it? Thanks! EDIT: A related question. I also have the blaster from my MCE IR receiver (it has one pin and two blasters). Would this work as an alternative? I wouldn't be able to hook it up directly to the HD-PVR (the pin doesn't fit), but I could hook it up to the back of the IR receiver that it came with. And then presumably select the MCE blaster when setting up the IR control for the HD-PVR in Sage. Would that work, even though it doesn't connect to the PVR? I'd have to take apart the computer to get to the embedded receiver, so I'd prefer to only try it if it stands a good chance of solving my problem... Instead of all the detail in my first post, maybe I just ask simply:
Does anyone have the Hauppauge IR Blaster working in a setup that includes an additional Hauppauge tuner? |

I wasn't able to get it setup at all. Just wouldn't work for me. I went with Firwire and it worked just fine. I was trying an HD-PVR and dual 150s.
