A weird bug

I don't know exactly what the issue relates too but it coincides with my recent upgrade to beta 6.4.5. It seems as if my machine running sage just decides after a while to stop showing recordings from network shares and gives me a -51gb free on the disk bar this is only an issue since I use the shares on the sage box as the recording directories, i.e.: disk 2 and 3 are labeled \\sagetvserver\sagetv2 and \\sagetvserver\sagetv3 and when this happens I lose all my recordings or at least to ability to record and playback. A restart usually fixes this issue for about 2 hours which sucks because my sagetv uptime is in the years now I have a lot of wiz data to index before the service actually starts so it can take up to 45 minutes to restart sage

any ideas

Make sure the network card isn't set to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Uncheck that box.

It should be in the properties of the network card through Device Manager on the Power Management tab.

still nothing I's still screwing up about 2 to 3 times a day I hate to have to totally reinstall windows especially since I got everything working just the way I want then this. I have done some research and I see that there is a similar issue with vista but nothing for xp I believe computer browser may be broken in some way but I cant be sure becausde this has never happened on any system I've had before

When Sage thinks the network share goes offline can you still access it through the OS/Explorer or even another system on the network? (Trying to see if this is an OS or application access issue)

If it's an application access issue, have you tried rolling back SageTV to a previous working version to see if it corrects it?

Actually as it turns out its both os and application related. I had a drive on my naslite server fail one that was serving music pictures and divx content and as sagetv regularly scanned the inport directories it was finding no data at those locations since they no longer existed. I removed the import directories from sagetvs list and no more problems, although I don't know exactly how sage trying to find data that wasn't there wouldn't just have sage not show those directories anymore, instead of killing network sharing for that particular pc. And to answer your question a little better no I couldn't access shares on that pc or other pcs, nor could I access shares on sage from any other pc on the network. But it doesn't matter now since the problem is gone now --- so far anyway
