Playback Graph Question

Is there a way to configure Sage to publish the playback graph to the ROT, so you can view it in Graphedit?

Loading a Graph From an External Process
GraphEdit can load a filter graph created by an external process. With this feature, you can see exactly what filter graph your application builds, with only a minimal amount of additional code in your application.

• Note This feature requires Windows 2000, Windows XP, or later.
• Note Starting in Windows Vista, you must register proppage.dll to enable this feature. Proppage.dll is included in the Windows SDK.

The application must register the filter graph instance in the Running Object Table (ROT). The ROT is a globally accessible look-up table that keeps track of running objects.

This might be a better answered by submitting your question directly to Sage and filling out a Support Request.

AC3Filter has the ability to register its containing graph in the ROT. Unfortunately this is a compile-time option, so you'll need to download the AC3Filter source and recompile it yourself to use this feature.

Using a special compile-time version, if I selected AC3Filter as the Audio Codec in SageTV, I could see the EXACT GRAPH that SageTV is building to play any video type (mpeg2, h.264, avi, xvid, etc.)?

That would be cool. Better than setting everything to default and relying on merit to test things out.

It would be cooler if you could just set a property to have Sage publish the graph. You wouldn't be dependant on AC-3Filter joining the graph then.

FFDshow audio filter will show you all the DirectShow filters in use, just select it as the audio filter and while video is playing, open the FFDshow system tray icon.

Also in Sageproperties you can enable "debug logging" and the txt file which is created will show the steps Sage took to build the graph. Very helpful for troubleshooting filters which are hijacking the graph.
