Are you talking about the below feature?

Missing Media Items Workaround
Save

Guess what? Ticked it, and stuff showed up.

typical. always happens just after you post.

Whatever this workaround does, it worked.

I might be a little confused about something. Do I need to import the STVi for BMT 3.0? Or can I just use the Web UI? I have just the Web UI going right now and it seems to be working, however, there is a status that is in red that says the automatic plugin on the server is false. Does it need to be imported to run automatically? I tried importing it once, but I seemed to have lost functionality of the web UI. Every time I tried to go to http://Computername : port/bmt/ it would only be some bmt directory that I couldn't seem to do anything with. It wouldn't bring me to the usual bmt status page.

The STVi is only for on-demand lookups from your client pc or extender from within the default Sage UI or SageMC UI. You should be able to use the WebUI to initiate a scan or alter already scanned items. Not sure how well this is working at the moment though....mine is constantly scanning imported recordings which isn't really an issue and I'm sure Sean will fix things up when he returns from holiday.

I am using an older version that is at least 6 months old. Do I have to do an uninstall of the old version? I already have Jetty running for SRE, SJQ and Sage Mobile Web server, so I guess I don't have to reinstall Jetty, correct?

I just installed it over the old version (mine was pretty old too) without reinstalling Jetty or anything else. These instructions gave me the basics for the install - easy. And the web gui is simply awesome!

What about to install the STVi - do you have to remove the old one first.

By the way - does everyone else pronounce STVi as "Stevie"?

To be safe I re-imported the SageMC STV first. Then imported the BMT STVi

What if I have other STVi's installed, won't I have to reinstall them. What about settings like Screen Saver, EPG colors, Custom Menus, etc. Does that all get nuked when you reimport the SageMC STV?

Try just importing the BMT STVi and see how it goes.

If (and only if) it causes you problems do the SageMC STV then import the STVi's one by one. It will keep your settings so don't worry about that.

I don't think sean has changed anything on the STVi portion of BMT in a LONG time so the BMT STVi you already have imported is probably OK.

That being said i doubt you can successfully reimport the BMT STVi over itself and have it be successful, so you'll want to start with a STV that does not have BMT in it.

I have installed this and I appear to be running Sage 6.5.6.200 and the required version is 6.6.1. Anyone know what the downside to this is?

the extra metadata fields that BMT populates were not supported by SageTV until version 6.5.14 or 6.5.15 ... hence the 6.6 requirement.

OK - I have upgraded my Sage. I seem to be missing horizontal scroll bars - is that a known bug with BMT?

Exactly! My pages in the Metadata Tools web page gets cut off as it is wider than the page but I don't ahve horizontal scroll bars, which I should. On the home page my page is cut off just after status. Or is there some way to adjus the width of the three columns - Phoenix, Metadata Tools and SageTV?

So I've started experimenting with using mymovies wtih BMT. I am having a problem with updating the mymovies xml. When I add new movies and export the xml from mymovies, it doesn't seem to update the mymovies data unless I force the cache to update by deleting the cache folder for mymovies. I waited about 30 minutes for the cache to update itself. I tried stopping/starting the sagetv service. I noticed there is an "xml last modified" variable on the web ui, but it says it shouldn't be modified and is in a format that would be difficult to modify anyways. What should force the "xml last modified" variable to update?

I thought you meant in SageTV. That's why I asked. I have noticed the same thing and I just change the font size on the browser to deal with it. (using ctrl + -)

I had noticed some titles like that as well showing up recently in my collection. I have to check to see if this is a bug in the bmt code, or if the titles actually have quotes in them on imdb or themoviedb.org. I've added a bug for this.
