There are a few options.

1) If you edit the sage.properties file and set:

sleep_on_close=true

Then you can use the mouse to click on the X in the upper right corner to put SageTV to sleep instead of closing it. Remember to edit the properties file _after_ exiting SageTV.

2) The SageTV Power command is normally set to ctrl+z. So, you could type that to put it to sleep.

3) To use the Hauppauge remote to sleep & wake SageTV, edit your irremote.ini file (in your Windows sirectory). In the [Default] section, set:

GRNPOWER={run(DriveLetter:\<sagetvpath>\SageTV\SageTV.exe)}{mode(SageTV)}

Obviously, you would use your drive letter & path to the SageTV directory. Then, in the [SageTV] section, set:

GRNPOWER={ctrl}z{mode(Default)}

Edit: Be sure to use the short file/folder names in the path to SageTV.exe; irremote.ini doesn't seem to like spaces in its lines.

Remember to restart the IR control program. Then, you would use the green power button at the top of the remote to put sage to sleep & wake it up again.
