Want to Ebay old MVPs.. questions..

I have now upgraded to the new HD extenders and want to Ebay the old Sage Hauppauge MVPs. Do they need to be flashed or something so they don't look for a sage server on boot? Do they have specific SageTV firmware? If someone wants it for Sage can the licenses be sold?

Just wanted some advice.. I never really paid much attention to them.

They are Hauppauge devices. Everything is done from a software load. No firmware. If you installed the Hauppauge software and booted them they would come up with the Hauppauge interface, not Sage. You can sell the hardware but you can't sell any Sage software licenses with them.

They'll try to download a dongle.bin as soon as they are connected to a new network. So, they are only sage specific until they have a new dongle.bin loaded.

As for the license, i'm pretty sure they aren't transferrable.

Thank you.

So I guess ebayers could just download this software from Hauppauge.. I am pretty sure the original disks are in a box in a closet that would frighten anyone to try to go through!

Thanks again.
