A Java window popped up (after several firewall flags I allowed), with a link to "Pandora Radio". I clicked that and my radio statio started playing.

Is it possible that you missed the firewall warnings before or they weren't shown? Does it work now?

Not likely, but, you never know. Anyway, I tried again via Sage and it still doesn't work. The logs don't show anything being blocked either. Also, if I turn the firewall off, it still doesn't work.
I really appreciate the help, btw! |

Try unzipping the files again and make sure the cncb.SagePandora.jar file is in the SageTV "JARs" directory. Try starting from the fresh STV and import the STVi again. If it still doesn't work send me a PM and we will try to debug this some more.

Last night my parents were here overnight for a visit and my mom kept ooing and awing over the Pandora plugin for SageTV. She's been hassling me for 2 years to set them up with an HTPC that can do all of that movie and music stuff and I keep putting them off not wanting another thing to do long distance tech support for, but the Pandora Radio thing pushed her over the edge. She says I HAVE to help them get this.
And she's not much for computers or any tech device - and 66 years old to boot. I don't know how much longer I can hold them off - so thanks Craig |

Setting Service Sound Options
For anyone launching the Pandora Player from an extender while running Sage in service mode using the "Local System" account I figured out a trick to set the sound options for this account. I was still getting the browser clicking sounds and it was using the wrong sound card for output until I fixed it like this in XP:
1) Open a command prompt. 2) Type in the following: at TIME /interactive control mmsys.cpl where TIME is a few minutes from now (ex. 11:50) 3) At the specified time, the Sounds & Devices window will open from the "System" account and you can turn off system sounds and specify the default sound card that is used by the service.

I realize accolades are coming late here, but I finally had some time to install this plugin and I have to say, it is brilliant! I had been hoping for a Pandora plugin for quite some time. Thanks again Craig. You've helped add a little more music to my household

Craig, great job on this. Works excelletly once I paid better attention to the instructions.
Does anyone have a good icon for CenterSage/SageMC use?

Sound tweaks
Is it possible to add a DSP filter (like Isotope Ozone, made for Windows Media) to whatever is being used to playback the Pandora Radio?
Or, can we choose which player we use to play the music? I would like to be able to tweak the sound a bit. Or any ideas on if I can use VST type enhancers? I see lots of video options in Sage setup, but very few Audio. |

It's never too late for that . Thanks.

It doesn't appear that Pandora has a logo of any kind. Maybe just the generic music one or maybe someone has a good web radio icon?

Pandora uses a Flash player and you can't change this. I don't think you can add any DSP to it but if you right-click the actual Pandora player you should be able to launch and see all the Flash settings available.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make an xmradio listen online plugin like you did with pandora

I think you would be better off using the SlimPlayer plugin for this since it already handles it and other internet radio (Pandora is pretty different).

actually I like the online player for xm, and it uses flash in a web browser so its not that different, not to mention the slim player if being scrapped

seriously, thank you so much for this. I love Pandora and really dislike dealing with music in Sage. This is a perfect fit.

If they have keyboard controls for the player and have some way to get at the currently playing song/station info then I might be able to do something. Otherwise, the Slim Player would be your best option or something like Girder to control it.
