I'll check it when I get home this afternoon. Other than that it's working perfectly. When you're not using Pandora, the SagePandoraPlayer.exe process runs at about 836k, which is tiny compared to the rest of Sage's processes on my machine.

Would you mind summarizing how you got it working on the extender?

Did that back in this post:

http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...&postcount=131

Just add the .net player that cncb added to the first post, and follow his directions to install the new player. You just need to be logged into the sage server as the same user that you'll be running sage under (in my case, the sage user), and run the .net player. I've got my server machine's built-in audio disabled at the moment, and I'm using the virtual audio cable as the default sound provider on the machine. Since my server doesn't do anything else that makes noise, it works fine.

Were you able to fix the channel change problem or confirm that it was a case sensitive related issue?

I've been following your conversation with cncb with anticipation and didn't see a follow up regarding the only problem you encountered.

I just tried it, and that apparently was the fix, hit the guide button, and it switches to lower case, enter the ID as shown from pandora, and it works perfectly now.

I wanted to make a post for other's benefit:

In my experience this plugin will not work with IE7 in Vista 64. I have had to upgrade to IE8 on each of my media centers or else I get an error saying the Internet Explorer cannot open http://www.pandora.com when I click on connect to player.

Also, this is a great piece of software, thanks for the work!

First of all thanks for this plugin, it is a great idea.

Unfortunately it is not quite working for me. I get the "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.pandora.com." message from IE as mentioned by others. I have the latest 1.2 plugin, IE 8, XP with SP3, and SAGE 6.5.13.209.

If I OK the above msg, then click on "go back to the previous page" in the Pandora/SAGE IE window the the site loads fine and can be controlled via Sage just fine. Once I close the player from Sage and reopen it I get the same problem.

Any ideas?

I get it to work sometimes but often now get the same error in Vista with IE8. My best guess is that there were some changes recently in IE8 that has screwed up the Java library that allows use of the browser. If possible, use the "alternate player" that is described in the first post of this thread. It doesn't seem to have any problems.

Same IE isses with "Alternate" .Net Player

I was having the same issue you all were/are having with the Java version. So I switched to the alternate player as well. Worked for a week. But now I am back to getting the same IE error message I got with the Java player. The music will still stream and I can thumbs up/down, but none of the scrapped visuals/info is displaying on the Pandora screen in Sage. I popped IE8, reinstalled IE 6 and now no issues. Looks like CNCB is right.

One thing to possibly try is to remove all cookies for the Pandora site and login again through the player window when it tries to connect (assuming you don't get the error before it gets to the login screen).

I tried that as well. Did not work for me. There actually does not seem to be any cookies for Pandora? Anyway. I'll keep fooling with it. Hopefully the plug-in author will see this thread and jump in.

He already did .

Unfortunately, if the error is in Internet Explorer it is pretty much out of my hands. I wonder if it has something to do with the version of Flash used. You might try updating that if there is a new version.

If you still can't get it to work with the "alternate player" I would probably recommend you try the SlimPlayer plugin for Sage which will give you Pandora and more.

OK. So that was dumb. I did not realize you were the Author. Duh.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look at the Flash version, you never know. That would be an easy fix if it is. I tried the Slimplayer and there was just a lot of "extras" that had to be installed and tweaked. I would prefer to not be a professional Sage Tweaker. This was a more straightforward deal. And I am Pandora guy (Laptop, blackberry, etc). Not really interested in "just" radio/streaming.

Thank you for the suggestions! I am traveling but will take a crack at it in the next day or so!

Bingo

Yes, Bingo here as well. I updated Flash Player and the Pandora plug-in is now working fine. Am using the .Net flavor. Thank you.

Thanks for the ideas above... I tried updating to the latest flash player but still no joy. I was able to get the alternate player working so am happy with that, works well and really enjoy using the plugin.

Next I'm off to read about getting the plugin working via our HD extender.

I am stumped. I have been playing around with this for a while. I installed it on my WHS server, but got the IE error ("Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.pandora.com.") noted above by several folks. I tried IE6, IE7, and IE8, and several reinstalles of flash, but no dice. So, I moved on to the alternate player. The player works momentarily, but then a script error pops up for the adds on the Pandora page. I do not get the errors when I open Pandora in IE directly, but I get them when SageTV tries to run it. Once the error pops up, Pandora is doomed. Even if I have the alt Pandora player running on a RDC connection to the WHS server, and I see the error and dismiss it, then the player locks up. I have checked and script debugging and error reporting is turned off in IE, but it still tells me it is a IE script error.

Anyone got any ideas how to get the alternate player to not pop up script errors for the adds on the Pandora web site when run with the import?

Anyone get it running correctly on WHS?

Thanks.

Don't forget by default IE is set at a higher security level than on your typical workstation. You're on a server with WHS.

Gerry,

Thanks for the reply. I thought about that, and turned down the security as low as it would go. But got the same results. It is interesting that I have no problem playing it in IE, but as soon as the server does it logged in as Administrator then I get the script errors. Any other thoughts?
