Cannot load menu layout files

I cannot load menu layout files within SageMC. With any file I try to load I get the following error message:

Failed to load XML menu file
menu file = drive:/path/to/whateverfile.xml

Reload menu file
Load alternative menu file
Fall back to standard SageMC menus

Errors:
Failed to parse XML from whateverfile.xml.
Error at line 1 col 1: Content is not allowed in prolog


I am using SageTV 6.4.4 and SageMC 6.3.7a-fix with Java 1.6.0_05 on Vista 32-bit.

Nevermind I am an idiot. I was trying to import the centersage xml file in the menu layout file dialog.
