Moving SageTV Client to a different computer

I'm getting a error that the Client wont connect to the server.

REGISTER wont work.

Here's what happened. I had Client on computer A. I had Server on computer B. All was working fine. I decided to move Server and hardware to computer A. Working fine. Then I decided to install Client on computer C (computer B is no longer in operation). Should I be getting this error? Computer C is the only computer on my network using Client. Computer C is using WiFi to connect to computer A. Ping has no problem finding computer A.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks,
Z

Did you try this?
"If you are using the SageTV Client on more than one PC and accidentally entered the same license key from another PC you will get an error message - "Unable to connect to the SageTV Server". To enter the correct license key, open your SageTV folder, right -click on the SageTVClient.exe file and create a new shortcut. Then right-click on the shortcut and go to Properties. Then enter in the Target line at the end after the quotes a space and then the word REGISTER. The correct entry will look like this: "C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\SageTVClient.exe" REGISTER. Then you will be prompted to enter the new license key and after your correct license key is accepted, and you can delete the shortcut you just created. "

um, did you even read my post?

note my second sentence. "REGISTER wont work."

You should have been able to deduce that i meant that i tried the "C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\SageTVClient.exe" REGISTER

so, yes, I did try that.

Anyone else?

I imagine the reason why the REGISTER fix doesn't work because the scenario it fixes is you've entered duplicate license numbers and you want to re-register a client with a different license number. Unfortunately you are trying to use the same license number on a different machine. The only way I can think of getting rid of that client license number that still resides on Machine A is a reformat.

If that is the case then it needs to be fixed by Frey. You should be able to move your client license from one machine to another. It should simply lock out all but the most recently registered machine for a given license number.

Maybe there is another procedure I'm not aware of. This has been the only way I have been able to correct it. Maybe zjennings needs to email support and get a definitive answer.

Ok, I'll admit when I made a mistake. A reboot did the trick.

Boy, don't I feel like the fool.
