5TB = 100 full Blu-ray's or 625 full DVD's or ~2770 hours of recording @ 4mbps (good 720p h.264) or ~ 7400 hours of recording @ 1.5 mbps (good 480p h.264). Not too bad.

They can put as much space as they want, but i'll still need multiple hard drives to handle bandwidth of multiple recordings and post processing tasks running at the same time.

Hey... they say that if you buy two of them, you'll have enough space to hold all your memories. That's just what I need: finally, a way to do backup.

As the article points out, the hard drive still will not remember where you parked the car!!!

How do they know how much a brain holds?

I'm pretty sure I'm just equiped with 64K of RAM and a 360K floppy that I have to keep flipping over to read the other side......

Now if I only I could convince Brad Pitt to give me a copy of his backup so I can upload that to my brain. I'll be content with memories of Angelina Jolie & Jennifer Anniston...

What kind of compression is our brain using? 10TB isn't a whole lot of HD recordings

Of course this actually may be accurate. At least I cannot remember what I did yesterday, and a whole lifetime of 30 second memories might not take up that much space.

There used to be a saying, Xerox your life, once you loose it, it is nice to have a copy.
