Sage Boot Logo

Has anyone made a boot logo. I rarely ever boot my server but when I do I would like to see sageTV and frey technologies on boot.

Thought I would post to see if anyone had anything before I start from scratch.

(I'm running 2000)

I haven't done anything for 2000, but I made my xp home boot screen from screen shots of sage's splash screen and pictures from frey's website. I used nothing but MS Paint. As you mentioned, I reboot so infrequently, I sometimes forget it's there.

Would you mind posting a link to the utility? I did a little searching but was unable to locate the utility.

From what I remember the boot up screen is limited to 4 colors in XP. I use to have a photo of my kid as the bootup screen but it looks very grainy due to the color limit. It was well over a year ago so things may have changed.

I think it's more like 256, but that doesn't make much difference for a picture. However that would be plenty for a SageTV logo. I'm definitely going to have to remember this once I get around to dumping explorer as my shell. That would really impress people (not that I ever reboot).

Also take a look at using this:

Bootskin

Nice thing with this is you're not patching the kernel or using other kernels. Very safe and easy to use.

I definitely like not having to patch the kernel.

OK-this isn't Windowblinds. It's a small tiny program that does one thing and does it very well.

Anyone have some decent logos that I could use? Or ideas where I can get them.

I lifted the logos off the site but they aren't the best quality or correct size.

This is what I used

This simple program really takes the pain out of changing your logo.

edit: on this website, click on Tools, then 'view this page in English'.

Here's a starting point:

File Type: bmp bootshare.bmp (150.1 KB, 340 views)
