Finally 'pulled the trigger" and ordered

I have been lurking for the last few weeks.. and downloaded the trial and ran that for the 21 days with dual PVR 150s. I finally bought the software and a HD-100

Looking forward to seeing how well the HD-100 works. once I have it working on my TV then I will order a HDHR and be set for a while.

I upgraded my Router and network switch to 1 gig units, my 'server' also has a 1 gig card.

the Server I am unsing ia an Older Dell with WinXP, P4, 1.7GHz, 768M ram, 250G OS HD and a 320G (64k cluster) drive for Sage.. I have recorded one show so far, going to set up a couple more Favorites tonight, Mostly for the wife and kids, I will set mine up when I get the HDHR.. as I prefer more HD programming. I will be using the Clear QAM until I can get my Antenna ordered and installed

Well it's all over now

Welcome to the group. The HD100 is as good as everyone says it is and much easier than trying to set up a client.

Biggest problem is that you're never done. Everything will be fine and then a HDD will go on sale, or you'll want to tie in more TVs, or add some other feature. But then if it wasn't worth it we'd all have TiVos and Cable/Sat DVRs.

Well, mine is a cost savings.. I watch mostly local HD, and I have Dish Net with HD, I am going drop Dish net once this is up and running. I currently have 2 DVRs , one for the kids stuff and one for my stuff. with this new set-up I know I will need another HD, but my current server is IDE only, which is fine for now, but if I ever move my current desktop to the the server spot then I will have MORE room, as it has SATA and IDE.

Anyway, I figure one 750G HD in IDe to add inplace of one of the CD-ROM drives and I should have enough space. I also plan on putting some of the stuff on DVD for the kids to watch in the Van on trips) otherwise I hope it passes WAF

I'm not seeing that deal. The cheapest 750gb shows over $100.

Closest I could find was this 640GB. Although Outpost has one for 109.95. Or this one for 109.99

Last edited by BobPhoenix; 06-17-2008 at 10:39 AM. Reason: added outpost links

At least until next week, when 1 TB is on sale for $99...

...sigh... such is the life of the tech-gear-buyer....

Works, and you'll have a SATA for use when you have a board that'll support it natively.

My thoughts exactly as the first thing I did when I saw that on the tracking was to pull up the radar and..... Looked clear on there too.

Shows it sitting in Hodgkins IL.

Sounds more like an under the weather pilot.

Mine was scheduled Monday also, but now sits there with the last update at 11am this morning of "Adverse Weather Conditions"

I think were going to see more slow downs in shipping with all these high fuel prices.
