Sage 6.4.3 - Occassionally loses first few minutes of recording
I have seen this occur on previous SageTV versions, as well.
Does anyone know a fix? AzJazz |

There could be several reasons. You probably should turn on logging so you can provide a log to support. How many minutes are missing? What turners are you using? Are you sure your system clock is correct?

If it is the first five minutes, as opposed to the show just not starting exactly at its scheduled time, check this FAQ: My recordings are missing the first 5 minutes. How do I fix that?

I'm not sure (since I already deleted the video), but I think the recording was missing around the first 7 minutes or so.
I had this problem in the past, so apparently I already had set "sage.properties/seeker/fast_mux_switch=false" during a previous debug attempt. I just checked my signal strength on the HDHR channel that failed, and I saw Signal Quality of 90% => 94%, and Signal Strength of 98% => 100%. |

Since you are using the HDHR the missing first five minutes issue has been fixed with that tuner. You should run with logging on. If it happens again search the log for "halt". If you see that during the missing area, it means that Sage lost communication to the HDHR. That would probably be a bad cable or cable not plugged in all the way. Another possible reason but I think unlikely for only 7 minutes is the the EPG had a different value at record time but then was corrected in a later update. I just encountered this type of problem but I lost the first 30 minutes of a 2 hour show. Your signal strength appears fine and should be be related to this problem. But if you lose your signal for a monent or two, I think that could cause an encoder halt. But if you look at the log it may be clear as to what happened.
