feedback re: .11
Is anyone else experiencing huge pauses during show end/start, pressing record while watching live tv etc? For example, when LiveTV switched from 8:59 to 9:00 I get quite a big pause in TV, and sometimes a complete pause so that I have to hit play again to get the picture moving. My 1.4 didn't do this. Also, will there be a weather plugin for Sage2? I know it was discussed as a feature request but I can't remember (or find via searches) the outcome. One more comment regarding the recording schedule, it seems to me it would be better to have more of a 1.4 feel to t, with the ability to or order them alphabetically. The 1/2 hour timeslot thing in V2 isn't very user friendly (wife words).
Oveall, I'm very impressed with V2! |

On the box I built for my parents this is a big issue on 1.4, don't know if there's any tweak for it but the pause usually lasts about 10 seconds between timeslots.

The pause is the file closing and an new one opening. 1.4.1 took at least 5 seconds to do this on my system. 2.0 only takes about 1 second and now is similar to just changeing the channel and getting the initial stuttering.

well it's the other way around for me - in 1.4 there was literally NO pause, maybe a fraction of a second. On V2 it's a HUGE pause...

davey_fl are you sure 1.4.1 was that quick? There were tons of complaints. I was very suprised to see it as fast as it is in 2.0(for me anyway). The pause only occurs during live tv when you have not time shifted. If the switchover takes place while you are watching tv, for instance 2 minutes in the past, the transition is seamless.

yup I am completely positive. Actually 1.4 is running on my parents system and there is virtually no pause whatsoever, just a very quick blip and you know it has passed the changeover. However on my 2.0 system (exactly the same hardware and OS) the pause is LOOOOONNNNGGGG. To the point where you think it has crashed. And sometimes, you have to hit play again to get it to go, otherwise it just sits there. The same pause occurs if you are watching livetv, decide to record it, and hit record. The screen freezes for about 7-10 seconds. Sometimes it continues but sometimes you have to hit play again...

Are you getting sound during the pauses?
I've noticed this sort of thing in 2.0 - but instead of getting the show back after 7-10 seconds, I get a verrry slooowww slideshow sort of thing. Just a frame every 5-10 secs while the sound goes on just fine in the background. Play, pause, channel-change, nothing brings it back. This happens both changing channels on live tv and when looking through the guide, with the little preview window in the corner... |
