Both my extenders were updated with the latest beta firmware this weekend and both are showing this problem. I've checked all the recordings directly and there are no hitches in playback there.

But other than that - it's working well - no overheating problems or the like - although to be fair I'm recording in 480p.

I saw the video glitch in some of the initial recordings. Especially near the beginning of a recording but none thru the whole thing. I also had the audio glitch that seemed to be more noticable on Nat. Geo HD. I'll be making more recordings on different channels to trak this. I'm also hoping the new drivers come out that support 5.1. I have this attached to the Analog audio out of the box.

I did some testing and eliminated the video "skip" issue (at least this worked for my setup). I started another thread for this because I didn't want to "hyjack" Fluffdaddy's thread.

Setup on mine was pretty easy. After installing everything and one reboot, the IR blaster worked fine. Unfortunately I got one of the overheating units. I can get up to about 5 minutes before it freezes. I called Hauppauge this morning and as soon as I mentioned the unit was freezing after a few minutes and got very hot, he quickly offered an RMA. He said they would send me a tested unit back. I will say the video looked great on the few short captures I was able to make.

I'm one of the happy customers. Setup was clunky...it took about an hour and a few reboots, but since then it works fine. No lockup issues and I'm working the unit pretty hard. If you're interested, I documented my setup experience in another thread.

I believe my unit was over heating when in it's proper position, but now that it's been on it's side it is much cooler and I havent had any issues. I recorded to Euro games yesterday no issues. That said the setup in Sage has been difficult and I still don't have it right. Overall, I think it needed some more time to get right, then again it could just be issues with my computer.

Would it help if a laptop cooler was used and put under the HD PVR to help cool it?
