Installing Drivers for HD-PVR on WHS HELP!

I have a WHS box with USB ports, but without a CD-ROM drive. How am I going to install the drivers? I can remote in from my laptop, I go to install new hardware, it reads my HD-PVR, but I can't make the box locate the drivers on my DVD-ROM on my laptop. Any other way I can install them, or does anyone know exactly where to put the files in my WHS?

Thanks

I haven't used WHS before, but I had the same issue. I placed the CD into another computer, and copied the entire CD contents to the local hard drive of my PVR server. In the New Hardware Installation wizard, I pointed it to the local directory where I dropped the copy of the CD (I pointed it to the Drivers folder on the CD image).

I was able to just copy the Drivers folder over to the "Personal Folder" via the console. I could point it to the folder, and everything looked good as it started copying the folders, and then all of a sudden...NO! Device cannot start. I uninstalled the drivers, and when I plug it back in, WHS won't even recognize it. Anyone got any other ideas?

Well, I restarted my server, remoted in, and sure enough, the device manager said the HD-PVR was working fine. So, I go into sage to add new source, and there are none to be found. Should there be another light on with the HD-PVR?

I have my component outs from my STB to my PVR in along with my optical out into the PVR, the server says it's fine, but nothing seems to be happening. Do I have to install something else on the disc for sage to acknowledge it?

This is my first attempt at this, so forgive my noobishness.

Thanks

Sage only looks for devices when you first start it up. Did you do a restart before trying to add?

I think you should try running the Hauppauge install application from the CD rather than just loading the drivers. Just share the CD drive on your laptop over the network, then you should be able to access it from your WHS box.

Simple, just put the cd into any machine on the same network as the WHS box and enable "sharing" of the cd-rom drive. From the WHS machine, it will behave as though it is attached directly to it.

Or just copy everything on the CD to a directory on your WHS server. Then just execute the setups from there.
