DDR333 + DDR400
Well now that I have my HD extender I have a spare pc. Would it be a good idea to take the ram DDR33 from my old client and add it to my server that has DDR400?
According to my motherboard MSI K8N Neo Platinum both are supported but it says nothing about mixing them up.

Mixing speed ratings willl probably cause it all run at the slower speed. If you have adequate RAM already, adding more won't noticeably speed things up, and could actually slow things down if the speed ratings don't match, or if important apps get loaded into the slower RAM.

If you mean that you would end up with 4 modules or RAM, you may need to slow it down even if they are all rated at DDR400. But, you might need to slow it down even more if one set is already DDR333.

Well, it really depends on what you can use best. More, slower memory or less, faster memory. From your specs it looks like your server is running with only one Gig of ram so I would add the extra memory. Your motherboard will run the DDR400 as DDR333. Assuming you get 2 or more Gigs of ram, then go to System Properties -> Advanced -> Perfomance(settings) -> Advanced and under memory usage check System cache. This *might* increase your hard drive performance which is most systems bottleneck. I wouldn't increase the system cache if you have < 2 Gigs of ram.
