VNC Control no more?

Until 2.0, I was able to control SageTV from a remote computer using Ultr@VNC. Now, when I connect, the SageTV menu screen shows up as a uniform blue screen without text or graphics. Is this a problem for anyone else? I can still see the Windoes Start menu and menu bars as usual.

Re: VNC Control no more?

I don't use UltraVNC, I bored/regular RealVNC.

It is still working just fine for me.

Sorry to report that I use UltraVNC also and it works fine for me....

What's different in our configs? I use all 250 cards no 350's if that is a difference? WinXP.

I'll bet it has something to do with video rendering: are you using Overlay, VMR or VMR9? Did you enable 3D acceleration?

I switched from UltraVNC to RealVNC Beta 4 because it supports dual display!

On my server (SageTV) I am using the default video renderer (don't know what that is...) and 3d Acceleration is DISABLED.

On the sageclient machine I am using Overlay and 3D acceleration is ENABLED.

PS: I UltraVNC'ed over to check these settings

I use dameware when I need to see graphics, and vbscripting for everything else.

This might be the problem I ran into a few weeks ago. When I installed UltraVNC server on the Sage box one of the last option is a virtual display driver.
This caused tons of problems.

After I reinstalled and unchecked this option all was well. Please keep in mind this was when I was using 1.4. I'm now using the most recent beta and haven't had any problems. Except the fact that its very slow controlling things.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, we have too, and since I bring my laptop home, and it just happens to have to have it on here for work... hehe

Thanks, all. Having the 3D Acceleration acceleration turned on the server side broke it. What do you suppose that option is for, anyway?

The virtual display driver in Ultr@VNC was causing me a problem several weeks ago in 1.4, and removing it had already been discussed in the forum.
