Movie split into two parts

I just purchased the new HD media extender which should be here tomorrow. In advance I am setting up my NAS with the SageTV server software. I have also installed SageMC. All of my movies on my NAS are in two parts.

Example:

movie.cd1.avi
movie.cd2.avi.


I want SageTV to recognize both parts as one movie and then download the cover art from IMDB. I have done some searching in the forums but haven't found exactly what I need. Can someout help me out with instructions?

It's my understanding that Sage doesn't recognize movie stacking. Some people have suggested that you can create a playlist for each multi-part movie... but that seems insane... especially if you have lots of multipart movies.

I would love to see movie stacking in Sage.

i usually just combine any 2 part movie if possible, since i never bother burning them anyways.

using virtual dub it takes only 2 min at the most, because u do not need to reencode anything, just combine them.

only works if the audio is not VBR (VariableBitRate)
