Client error on startup

Hi
When starting the client app on my laptop, I am asked fir the IP of the server, having entered the address I get the following message
Both machines have the same java version....any ideas?

Just one -- they both have the same version of java, but is that the latest one?

Try connecting to the server with the IP address instead of machine name.

Both running latest java version....same result either with ip address or the machine name.....no progress on this one....anyone care to shed some light on this?

Go to a command prompt from your client and ping the address of the server. This is the format: ping 123.45.6.100
See if you get a reply. If the request times out you have a network problem
