PVR 350 Playing Music Problems

Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I just got home from two weeks of studying for my MCSE, which I got!!!!
Anyways, I have a PVR 350, and the interface(TV output) works really well, after a couple of reboots etc...
I noticed a few things.

The PVR 350 doesn't play MP3's???????? I thought it would, just not with visualizations
Also, When I load Sage and go to the music albums, I can play the music just fine(SB Live output), but if I go into live tv, or even the tv guide, then back to the Music section, sage locks hard, until I restart the machine.

Does anybody have this problem?

I don't use the sound out on the card but I can try it later today.

The locking part looks to be a bug. Maybe you should also go here and submit a Bug Report. I also have that problem when I go to any video file after playing music freezes the picture but not the sound and I only can fix it by rebooting.

Yeah, I did submit a bug report, I just wanted to know if anybody else has had the problem. I haven't been able to test V2 until yesterday, so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I think it might be related, because it seems to be caused by SageTV switching from playback through a soundcard to a PVR 350. BTW, I took your advice and ordered the case you use for making your PVR boxes. I like the case a lot. Now I just have to find a MB etc.....

Ya I was had concerns at first about the case because the price was so cheap but everyone rated it as one of the best. I even have my 2 gig celeron only running in the high 90's with the case enclosed in my stand. I exspected 10-20 degrees more. But I found a local shop here with it so it won me over when I saw it. For a mobo, I highly recommend the new ASUS ATI board and then get the video out add on. I only found the add on at New Egg. I would say the picture quality is just as good as the 350. Also the board has coax digital out. I wish it had the option to add on the optical digital out like the full ATX model but I am just going to add in a card for that later on to bypass the sound. My audio receiver only can decode DTS, DD, etc... from the optical and not coax.

But I did test out the sound with music and it crapped out on me too. I also lost the OSD when I played any song.

btw, congrats on the MCSE. Some day I should go get it, but then again with the company I am with now (besides trying to startup Phenix Tech) there are no plans on ever getting rid of the IT group. The company makes a butt load of cash year after year and it depentant on the quality in house IT brings you and the matching pay. But still, it would be nice to actually have some certs. to go with the exp.

Yeah, the certs add salary bargaining points. I concur on the congrats on the MCSE! I'm about to take my last 2 tests to be MCSE/MCDBA.

Wondering if anyone has this problem:

I have a 350 and 250 in my server...and one networked 250. I can't watch liveTV or a currently recording show through the networked encoder and out the 350. It does show through the software decoder if I enable it. I can watch the show out the 350 once I'm finished recording it. Also, I noticed that if I stop, then restart the network encoder (forcing it to finish a file and start a new file) then I can watch the first segment of the show out the 350.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Deadbolt

Hmm, haven't tried it yet, I just assumed the current version of Sage Recorder would be incompatible in some way.
