Newbie, setup 2nd source hangs. Please help
I have a HVR-980 setup and basically working. I then tried to configure my PVR-150, which is listed as a WinTV PVR PCI II.
When I get to the point to configure the EPG lineup/channels, I selected Local Broadcast OTA, then Dallas-Ft. Worth analog broadcast. Then it just hangs forever saying downloading channel lineup. I've also tried DFW/Local Broadcast, it also hangs. I'm not sure which I should be using since the 150 is hooked up, at the moment, to an antenna. If abort this 'download', then go into channel lineup, nothing is there. I can manually add channels and it works. If I do a manual scan, it finds a bunch of channels during the scan, but after, none are added to the list. Do I just need to leave this 'download' for 1 hour or something? I'm running Save 6.3.10, in trial mode. Hope thats not the problem.. It looks like this is a full version demo with 21 day limit.. So far, everything looks good, I'll probably buy this and get an extender, but want to make sure I can get everything working first. P.S. On my HD source, the picture looks really good, but while watching, I get occasional dropped frames that are noticeable during movement, etc. Is this normal or should I be able to get 0 dropped frames playback? Dual-core P4 3Ghz processor, 2 GB ram. 7600GS w/ PureVideo decoders. Deccheck shows PureVideo is default. 64K cluster on dedicated 2nd partition of primary system disk. CPU around 25-30% during playback. Thanks, Mike |

Check the firewall FAQ; maybe the port needed for the EPG data download is blocked. (I just tried & had no problem downloading channel lineup info.)

I don't have a local firewall, just the router blocking inbound connections.
Anyway, for a test, I tried resetting the 980 channels which had previously worked, but it also just hung up. So, I simply shutdown Sage, restarted it, and then it worked fine. Go figure. Thanks, it's working now. Now if I can figure out how to remove a channel that I added while trying to figure this out. Probably in an xml file somewhere. -Mike |
