How to rename s-video inputs?

I have a pvr500 tuner card, and recently I have rebuilt my htpc with all new hardware and reinstalled SageTV from scratch and I had renamed my s-video inputs based on what was plugged into them, I had them named VCR and TIVO.

Well I just can't figure out how I did it, I know I didn't do any registry edit, I have looked into the manual but that refers to naming channels.

Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't use that before, but I did load it and it won't do what I want to do.

I think I did it via SageTV setup menu.

I think you can do what you want to do, but it requires registy changes.

I went into setup and imported the rename Tuner STVi, but nothing has changed in my SageTV. Looks the same as it did before. I have never tried to load an STVi before, is there some trick to it?

Its in the channel setup, change the call name/satation ID, you don't need any plugins.

I don't see "change the call name/satation ID" under channel setup.

This is where I looked --> Setup / Set up Video Sources / S-Video / Channel Setup

then under that it list the following:
Enable All Channels
Disable All Channels
Add Channel to Lineup
Change Channel Sorting Method

Do that, then only your newly created channel should be available in that lineup.

I couldn't figure out how I originally renamed my inputs, but I did figure out how to edit the properties file to rename my inputs, see the attached pdf file.

Insert the below lines into you Sage.properties file

epg/lineup_overrides/-2367366968325111809=-228713166,TIVO or VCR;
epg/lineup_overrides/-7055304259872686080=-146366337,HD DVR;

Replace the numbers between the (slash) / your tunner number here , (comma)
with your tunner numbers.

Edit 06-18-2008, added lines to paste into Sage.properties file

Remember to exit SageTV and the SageTV Service prior to editing the Sage.properties file
