Navigate the OSD with the mouse?
Is there anyway to navigate shows during playback using only the mouse? I really liked the functionality in v1.4 to click on the various controls. Now I only have a control to Play/Pause and a timeline.
I also miss the context sensitive (right-click) menus in the guide, sage recordings, library, and favourites listings. They made it very easy to manage recordings. Any chance of adding them back in? The reason for this is I do all my show management from the computer and find it much faster than using a remote and easier than using the keyboard. Everything takes much longer to do now. I am constantly having to switch screens. EDIT: An alternative to bringing back context menus might be a simple toolbar at the top or bottom of the listings that correspond to: favorite, delete, watched, info, move to library, etc. The toolbar could "pop" into view like the Windows task bar does. That way it would not interfere with the clean display on TV for those who prefer to do everything with the remote. Last edited by bgorrell; 01-30-2004 at 05:54 AM. |

Well, I posted this to the other thread but it is still in my clipboard, so... From the original beta announcement:

And my reply is still on my clipboard, so...
---------------------------- My fault, I read "Icons have not been introduced..." and thought they were talking about channel icons and didn't pay attention to the rest of the message. Sounds like exactly what I want. ---------------------------- Sorry... |

You can do one thing with the mouse while playback is occurring... you can right click to toggle the OSD.

Looks like I'll have to hold off beta-testing until mouse control is in it - we use a wireless mouse as our main "remote" for controlling SageTV.
