yet another Sage & USB-UIRT question

I am slowly rebuilding my system after a C: Drive crash & burn.

I placed .ir files that have previously worked in the USB-UIRT folder.

When configuring the video sources, the USB-UIRT option is not visible.

If I place the .ir files in the Remote Codes folder they become visible as part of Hauppauge controller.

I have reinstalled the USB-UIRT drivers.

What Gives?

They should be copied into the folder..

"C:\Program Files\SageTV\Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT Transceiver"

and then in the source setup you select the usbuirt, and the IR files should then be visible as an option, i think.

Yes, I agree.

I don't have the USB-UIRT option under ''change tuning device''

strange.

I have 3 files in the
"C:\Program Files\SageTV\Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT Transceiver" folder.

They are

motorolaDCT2000.ir
sky.ir
skyplus.ir

(The motorola one is there by default, the other 2 control my stb's)

when you go to 'change tuner control', you don't get the usbuirt option, but the ir files that you copied there should show up - so I get the options....

motorolaDCT2000
sky
skyplus

I then select the appropriate file.

You have restarted sage since installing the usbuirt haven't you?

Thanks for Your rapid feedback!

I totally agree with you on how it should (and has) work(ed).

I have an empty list, only the lonely "cancel" button.

I have restarted and reinstalled many times.

thats wierd.

All I can think of now is to uninstall and re-install, and if it still doesn't work, then bang your head against a wall for a bit!

Hopefully someone else may have see this before.

You're not using vista are you? I know there are issues with vista and UAC, so that when you copy files into a program folder it may actually copy the files to a relocated folder in your profile.

Are you using service mode? If so, see what happens when not using the service.

Or, contact support -- maybe they will have a good idea about why it isn't using the USB-UIRT correctly.

As the Oracle said, time to contact support.

But in the mean time, does your usbuirt show up in device manager when you expand USB Controllers?
