EPG seems to only load a few hours ahead?
Hi folks,
I see from some of the other threads and discussion that the EPG is normally loaded with up to two weeks of content. I don't leave my PC booted for days on end,...typically only for a few hours at a time. Still, the EPG never seems to see more than a few hours into the future, which seems kinda weak. Is this a typical experience for a user like me that only uses SageTV for a few hours at a time? Or is something else likely wrong? I'm pretty sure I'm using the XMLTV service, since that seemed to be the one I was encouraged to use during initial SETUP of SageTV. I can't check right now, though, because my wife is playing Lego Star Wars. That's the other problem with SageTV....I need my own PC to run it on! Joe |

I should have added...
...I'm a new SageTV user. I just installed MC v6.3 the other day, and have
been using the nividia PureVideo decoder with my nvidia 7600GT card and it works very nicely,...even on my creepy old 2.8GHz P4. I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600, and it works quite nicely. I've heard reports of poor sensitivity in general with PC tuner boards, but this one seems fine. I had one strange thing happen during initial setup as I was trying to add and delete channels from the lineup,...somehow I ended up with channels defined where the physical channel shown by SageTV did not match what it would actually tune. For example, I *know* I had the physical channel numbers right, but for some reason a couple of the channels got swapped. Another time two different physical channels got mapped to the same actual channel. Seems like something in the SageTV channel "database" (where ever it is) got scrambled. Anyway, I just blew away the video source and started over with a fresh scan and things were better next time. Anyway, if you can help me understand why the EPG never seems to want to see very far into the future, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with SageTV. Oh,..I've also been trying to by an STX- HD100 extender but the darn things seem to be like hens' teeth. Joe |

This is definately not correct. If you are using an HD tuner for Over-The-Air signals, it is probably getting the EPG data from the signals itself. I had this problem.. My EPG data was only showing up about 12 hours out. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Sage and got it to work right, after I rescanned the channels.
