No, about 4 miles on the other side of the border I actually did not think of that.

My core2duo 1.5ghz laptop with GMA 950 graphics plays the file back at 65% CPU using PowerDVD. The intel chipset has no acceleration for h.264 so I would imagine a fast single core with modest acceleration, like a 7300GS might be able to handle it. I'll try it on my HTPC when I get home which is a single core 2ghz athlon with a 7300GS.

I don't get it. If no one can get the files that this thing encodes in sagetv or with the hd extenders .. what is the point? Am I missing something?

Also, do you think Mac version will support it? I doubt it right?

Do you still have to wait a long time for the channel to change?

Got mine, but suffered a 3rd degree burn from whipping my credit card out too fast!

- SageTV support is coming, so it will work

- No idea

- Since nothing or shipped or been reviewed yet no-one outside of Hauppauge knows. However, channel changing is rarely crisp when going through an IR blaster. Depends on your STB.

I'm hoping I can still use my firewire setup for the channel changing. I see no reason why it wouldnt work, but who knows. Just wish there was a way to eliminate the OSD from my DCT-6200's component outputs.

I don't think there is a way to eliminate but you can shorten the display in the settings.

Watching the HDTV recorded quaility

This is probably a dumb question as I am very new to the entire HD concept (been running Sage with SD since 2.0). I just got my first HDTV over the weekend along with a cable HD STB. My question is, assuming I use the Hauppauge to component capture from my cable HD STB box, how would I need to connect my Sage Server to my HD TV? Right now it is through S-video to the TV.

Are there computer video cards with HDMI or component out, do I connect it through DVI to HDMI, VGA to VGA? I am also contemplating moving the server to the wiring closet and getting the HD Sage Extender, which I would assume also address this issue, but just looking at all the options.

Thanks!!!

Got one (#33838)

OP (SHS) indictated .. "Yes it has been delayed to May -June"
Also everyone is talking about a "pre-order" but I saw no indication that hauppauge was not taking orders for a product they can ship NOW!!! Did I miss something or is this thing actually going to arrive this week?

If so I'm in trouble....... better start ordering all the components for the new server asap. Lots to do.... I hope the old CC has enough limit

I noticed they have pre-order now but does anyone know if they will be selling through the channel to start or just via haippauge directly to begin with?

There are several possibilities. You could connect via VGA, Component, DVI or HDMI (yes, there are video cards with component adapters and or HDMI ports). The method you choose will depend on your video card, available ports on the TV and your preference as to which one looks the best to you on your TV. My current HDTV has VGA, DVI, and Component. DVI produces a clearly superior picture to VGA but I've never tried the component. OTOH, my dad's HDTV has the best picture on the VGA input with the HDMI picture looking fuzzy.

Would be nice if SageTV developers chime in and give us some info on support for this device. Does the current v6.3.10 support it?

Anyone know if this will support resolution switching? My STB supports 480i and either 720p, or 1080i and will switch to 480i during SD shows. It would be nice to keep file size and scaling down. I hate double scaling.

The main happauge page said shipping May 1st. You may have missed this if you went directly to the product page via an external link.

Dave Zatz got confirmation, but I have not seen anything more than this teaser on these forums.
