Got my second one up and running
I have an "old" one and a "new" HD PVR arrived yesterday - had them both running recording continuously for about 10 hours today - they're both warm to the touch but not hot - not problems with the recordings at all thus far.
I'm using the drivers I downloaded when I installed the original one some weeks ago now - no issues at all, looks great, I'm super happy with the picture. If Comskip or Show Analyzer came out with H264 support, I'd be a pig in slop

I got my RMA'd one back Wed. and two more arrive on Monday. Unfortunately, I'll be too busy to do anything with them until later in the week.
Since my client PC's don't have enough power to decode HD H.264 I'll have to leave the HD channels out of the guide until I can either get new PC's or some HD100 extenders. Since I'll still be restricted to SD I'm thinking of waiting at least until Jere releases his H.264 update to SA. No use in losing commercial detection if I'm not recording any HD. If I am able to get a couple of HD extenders before Jere releases the H.264 update then I'll have to decide what is more important, HD or commercial detection. S |

I agree. Didn't think I could live without commerical detection after having it on every single recording for so long, but I'm reluctantly getting used to it. Still anxious for an SA update, but not so much that I won't want History channel in HD

Ordered on June 17th and it is shipping today, the 30th. Didn't think it would take that long. I paid for the 2nd day shipping too. But no regrets, still worth it since I'll get it on the 2nd. Don't know why I'm excited since there's not much to record till next fall.

Cool...i am wondering, how would 3 ir blasters work? i saw that the program had zone 1 and zone 2....or is this completely different

First, to answer your question, if you use more than one of these devices you must use another IR blaster such as the USB-UIRT that has zone control.
Second, I am reeeaallllly PO'd right now. Not one of the 3 HD-PVR's work. Not one, including the one I RMA'd and was (supposedly) fixed. All 3 get really hot and the fans never come on. I verified this on the one they fixed by opening it up and watching the fan during a recording session. I didn't open up the other two but I can't hear a fan at all. I get video from the pass-thru but not audio and the preview window in Arcsoft stay black and every capture I tried gave me a "Capture Failed" error message. I am F*%#ing steaming angry. aaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh S |

I've tried the optical and both front and back analog inputs.

sleonard, you might try an SD capture just to make sure everything is installed right on your server. If memory serves, the overheating issue only occurs on encoding HD. Also, most users could get the unit to work briefly before hanging.
Sounds like you may have another issue. |

sleonard did install the optical at frist?
Reset set Arcsoft to use the back analog audio then close the software Power Down the PC then unplug optical and other cable and unplug Power to the HD PVR let sit for a few min the only plug in the analog audio/video restart the PC. For some off wall reason with optical it cases that problem |

SHS, that was it. The one I had connected started working after unplugging the optical cable, power cycling the HD-PVR, and rebooting the PC.
I got all 3 connected and set up in Sage but while testing I noticed #2 had the red recording light on even though it was not recording anything. While troubleshooting that I caused a few other issues with the STB and the HD-PVR itself. I'm now waiting for some scheduled recordings to finish so I can reboot the server and check to see if I fixed the problems. While my one HD extender has no problem playing the h.264 recordings my 2 PC clients are pegged at 100% CPU and there is occasional skipped frames/stuttering and the UI is sloooow. Lots of spinning circles of death when both video and UI are on the screen at the same time. And this is with SD only. No HD recording in Sage yet. Strange thing is I have some 1080 HD clips from this device that play better in PowerDVD than 480i does in Sage. Oh well, I wanted to buy some more HD extenders anyway, time to get the CC out again. Is anyone here running 2 of these puppies simultaneously? I'd like to pick up 2 DirectTV STB's and run 2 of these at a time. Let me know how the performance is if you are, thanks!

I am with Verizon FIOS Motorola boxes, with no issues. I haven't updated my sig yet, but I have two HDPVR's connected to the server with 2 HDHR's and have two HD Extenders doing the playback.
