Hauppauge HD-PVR Information

Well, I ordered an HD-PVR from hauppauge's webpage on April 30th from their webstore, and got my order confirmation immediately, but hadn't heard anything from them since then, so I decided to e-mail them and I'll post the response I got from them for everyone here who may be wondering where your order is:

Quote:
Thank you for your order for the HD-PVR. We know that you are anxiously awaiting delivery and we are doing everything we can to expedite shipment from our manufacturer. Unfortunately we have run into a short production delay on the plastic cases but we are expecting to ship your order by the end of the month. If they come in any sooner, they will immediately ship out to you.

We apologize for this delay. We understand your disappointment. We thank you for your patience.

Exactly... I'd be happy if everything was just stuck together with duct tape.

Edit: Beaten. By a few hours? How did I miss the last page of the thread? You see how anxious I am now waiting for this thing.

I got this e-mail today from Dorothy at Hauppauge

Well, I waited for a while to see if SageTV released a branded version of this...and no word. So, I emailed Sage and George said he didn't know where that stood...

I hope, for SageTV's sake, they didn't just lose potential business from me!

I'm in the delivery queue with Hauppauge! Whoo!

HD-PVR Update

Interestingly enough I just got a proactive email from Hauppauge with the following:

Thank you for your order for the HD-PVR. We know that you are anxiously awaiting delivery and we are doing everything we can to expedite shipment from our manufacturer. Unfortunately we have run into a short production delay on the plastic cases but we are expecting to ship your order by the end of the month. We apologize for this delay. We understand your disappointment. We thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Just thought I would pass it on.

I received the same email from them. Then again I DO have to get off my lazy butt and actually order HD from the cable co. Right now I've just got digital and am using my HDHomeRun to grab the unencrypted locals.

I received the standard message too, but Dorothy (or someone on their sales team) actually took the time to complete my spam blocker form--I tend to block ALL email but known addresses. I've never had a company take the few minutes to complete this form just to make sure I add their address and get their message. Yeah Dorothy!

Well tomorrow (Thursday may 15'th) is officially the middle of the month. So theoretically the first group should be shipping soon.

For those of you pre-ordering, how are you planning to get SageTV to change the channels on the HD STB? Anyone got channel changing working via firewire for a motorola DCH3200? Or IR Blaster is the way to go?

At first I will work with the IR blaster on the HD-PVR. That's going to be the "more supported" way I would think. I also have a USB-UIRT I used to use with the STB and that worked good.
