I thought that they canceled that plan.

This is an awesome package! Their website states the DishHD package is available only in conjunction with one of their standard packages (top 100, top 200, etc.) but this is not the case. You can order ONLY the HD package. I ordered it right then. Now I'm betting they can recover from the lost AMC-14 sat last month and stay on track with their HD expansion.

DishHD Package

Does this include the SciFi channel? I didn't see it in the ad.

Not sure if this was posted already, but Snapstream has some steamy PCB shots of the unit on their blog...

http://blogs.snapstream.com/2008/04/...at-snapstream/

It looks like the weird glowing blue LED thing people were worried about may be a reality :/

Edit:

Looks like they've also got some good details too...

It has already been posted, but always nice to see them again

I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting on this.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I just came across an article which says Hauppauge stated that they will only support 1 HD-PVR per computer, at least initially.

Full Article Here

Edit: After actually reading the article that was linked to, I realized it is nothing new. The drivers support multiple devices, but it has not really been tested. Same thing that they have been saying all along...

I think (and hope) this is what is going on:

They will be shipping May 1st for the first batch of HD-PVRs - this will be for the first of us who got our pre-orders in. Then there will be another batch of them shipped in mid-May which will go to the next people in line. They are saying Mid to late May to people who call in because any new preorder purchases won't ship until then at the earliest.

We'll know for sure in a few days though. Seems the Hauppauge folks answering e-mails have had a difficult time getting a consistent message out on a lot of things though.

Well that will be bad news for me because I only ordered mine last night.

Why I held off so long you might ask. I was waiting on official word on if sage will support two or more Hauppauge WinTV HD PVR's or if the next version of Sage will have "dual epg" support for those of us with one HD-IRD and one SD-IRD. I hate having one of my ird's set-up for another city. I may have to buy another HD-IRD and a 2nd Hauppauge WinTV HD PVR (If Supported)....so I was "trying" to wait things out

The test clip played just fine on my old P4, but only with GPU acceleration (I don't know if there was sound or not as I don't currently have speakers on that particular computer).

Specs:
P4 2.4 ghz (533mhz bus)
2GB Dual Channel DDR
Asus P4P800 Motherboard
ATI HD2600 PRO (AGP)
1024x768 15" Monitor (I don't know if this matters or not)

Test clip w/o gpu acceleration (in powerdvd)
CPU 100%, very jumpy, not watchable

Test clip w/ gpu acceleration (in powerdvd)
10%-30%, looked excellent

Has anyone checked to see if their credit card has been charged? I would assume they would not hit the card until they were ready to ship.

You won't see it hit your credit card until it ships. And if it won't ship until May 1st, you won't see it hit your credit card until May 1st (This Thursday).
