Buying a Hauppauge 1800
Ok, I've made my decision to return my PVR150 and get an 1800. I was thinking of splitting the cable-in connection and running a STB to 1 tuner and the other cable line to the other tuner to see if I get any QAM channels. Would this be a reasonable alternative (to the QAM setup) to trying to pick up HD channels with an antenna?

That's what I do. You still have to follow the QAM set-up guide, however.
Let me amend that. I split the cable in three directions (actually more, but this purpose, 3): 1. Into analog on 1800 2. Into digital on 1800 3. Into STB (which I also port out to the S-video on the 1800, until that HD thingy is released) I wouldn't recommend going through the STB first. Last edited by wirecreative; 04-04-2008 at 05:51 PM. |
