SageMC - the end

Hi folks,

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I found a cease and desist order from Microsoft in my mailbox this morning, regarding copyright violations in SageMC. I have to take down all SageMC downloads by midnight. I'll have some more details later...

Wow, what timing - you finally got your own feed here. That's too bad, I know you put in a lot of hard work.

That's terrible news, especially here on the first of April...

I guess my first question ...

When you have the chance, what parts of SageMC may have to be sacrificed to bring it into compliance?

or did they Suggest the whole project may have to be abandoned?

Is Microsoft Bob coming back to haunt us?

Thanks for your time,
Bobby

ps --- ooppssss is it April 1st already ... I'm really hoping here ;-)

All right Dirk. Now I think you've taken this A.F. thing a little too far. Your messing with my favorite HTPC UI of all time!!!

And if you're serious then well..................

April Fools???

If this isn't an April Fools joke, there are only 2 things Microsoft could protest:
1. The underlying DVR technology
2. The User Interface

If it's the underlying DVR technology, Microsoft doesn't have a leg to stand on (TiVo might, but not Microsoft).

If it's the UI, SageMC is totally customizable, so the easy fix is to replace the default graphics to be more un-Microsoft-like.

Rats. Now my post saying that I shouldn't have created this forum & have to undo it won't seem as urgent to anybody.

Haha, classic!

My stream of thought -

After reading title: Aww, he doesn't have time to work on it any more. That sucks.

After reading first line: Really? Wow, that's surprising...I wonder what in the UI is an issue? I didn't think this was based much on M$ stuff at all. Wow. Surprising. Wait, this really sucks.

After finishing the post: Wait. Today's April 1st. Damnit.

Cheers to ya, Dirk. Good one.

Ok, might not have been the greatest AF joke, but hopefully some of you still had some fun (I know I did... )

No worries, I'm sure SageMC is in for the long haul...

If you're anything like me, you thought of this April 2nd last year and have been bottling it up ever since. Feels good to get it out, eh?

good one!
