USB-UIRT too slow for 5100

I just got comcast cable installed and I'm having a little problem getting SageTV (1.4) to reliably change the channel through the USB-UIRT. Sometimes it works, but only about half the time. Most of the time it fails because the USB-UIRT is sending the codes too slow for the Motorola 5100 box. The box will get 1 or 2 then reset and recieve the rest, but since it isn't a complete entry, it just resets without changing the channel.

Is there any way to make the USB-UIRT send the codes faster? Would make any difference to use the tuner exe plugin? I'm currently using the builtin support for the USB-UIRT with the Mot2000 codes.

Thanks

Have you tried the Digitalbox file in the UIRT thread? It is what I use with my 5100 and it seems to work well. The file and instructions are on Page 2 of the thread: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...&threadid=2102

Here is an excerpt from that thread:

Mine's a Motorola DCT2224 you could try my attached ir file just unzip and put it under the "RemoteCodes" folder of the SageTV dir. Then go thru the setup and choose "DigitalBox" as your device. Don't try to program it just see if my codes will work. It's worth a shot.

PS:To eliminate any interference from any remotes try changing the digital channel in Sage using keyboard control. After/if you get Sage to control your digital box fine then use another remote to control Sage. As you yourself pointed out using the same remote IR codes for controlling Sage and for Sage to control your digital box will only cause confusion. If your PVR250 remote worked fine for controlling Sage why not continue to use it.

PPS:Sorry to ask, but you did make sure you updated all the files as stated at the top of this thread.

Hope this helps,

I seems to be working better now. I edited the timings in the ir file. I changed it to 250 for the first one (inter-button) and 500 for the second (inter-sequence) . I'm not sure what the difference in these 2 are, though.

It has successfully changed channels to record programs over the 2 or 3 days, so I think this will work for me.

Thanks for the help!
