MCE-like Keyboard and old 45-button Hauppauge remote config help

Hi All,

I'm looking for advice on the optimal configuration of my multiple remote control devices.

I've recently picked up a radio-frequency based wireless Nmedia multi-media keyboard (http://www.nmediapc.com/RFKB1.htm). I believe it generates MCE codes which somehow still get sent out thru the Hauppauge IR blaster. Furthermore, there is no driver configuration that comes with this keyboard. It's plug-n-play. Some of its buttons do exactly what I would expect, and some do not.

My current remote configuration is for the 45-button silver hauppauge remote. Additionally, I use a programmable remote set to work like the hauppauge remote.

Is it possible/recommended to get all 3 devices to function intelligently (perhaps thru adding new codes to irremote.ini for the keyboard)? Or would I be better off to forget about the silver 45-button Hauppauge remote, reprogram my programmable remote to be an MCE remote, and then set Sage to work with an MCE remote. Keep in mind the only blaster I have is the one that came with my PVR-150. Based on the reading I've done so far, I suspect I'll lose my blaster functionality if I set the remote to be an MCE.

Perhaps I should use the LM Remote Keymap utility. Any suggestions?

Nope, from what I'm reading you don't own any LM RKM supported devices: you have a hauppauge receiver, a hauppage blaster and a RF keyboard; LM RKM supports MCE receiver and blaster, Streamzap, Firefly (RF & Mini) and USB-UIRT.

Though, I'm not sure of what issues you currently have : the Hauppauge remote and blaster should work very well with SageTV. And for your keyboard, you could try to remap the keys that didn't work directly in SageTV.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Thanks Stephane,

I didn't realize I could remap the keyboard in Sage. I love the forums for these easy solutions. I'll look that up.

Thanks for saving me time of going down the wrong road.
