USB-IRT and Composite Video
Hi All, LOVE SAGE!!!!
Okay, so I have sage configured with USB-IRT and using Tuner mode. I want to switch my 3 capture cards (2 Huappa 150's and a WinTV PCI II) to composite. First question: I have three cap. cards and I see composite, composite_2 and composite_3 are these one to one associations to my cap. cards? Second question: Can this work? Can I change them to composite? I try and the first one works but if I change the second one to Composite I get nothing. Is there any info on this? I am running the latest Sage Tv on Windows XP. Thanks! Brian

I don't think this is hardware support. My USBIRT has worked for years. My sagetv has worked for years.
When I want to change from tv tuner to composite video I get no video. My question is can I do this or does sage/irt only work under tv tuner mode?

It should work just fine, but composite 2 and composite 3 are on the onboard headers. You need an expander to access those.
I use this myself 2 PVR500s and 2 expanders. 2 RF into the PVR500 cards themselves, for analog cable TV tuning. 2 Composite into the cards themselves, 1 per card (CCTV Cameras, Composite 1) 2 S Video into the expanders, 1 per card (DVD Changer, S Video 2) Using this configuration any of the 4 tuners can access any of the 3 sources at any point in time. No tuner merit required but you must split the composite and S Video feeds. No troubles but the config takes a while as on the PVR500 you have to do the mappings twice even though the tuners are both on the same card and have access to the same ports. You have to pick your tuner then map every source for it. If you don't know which is which you can get confused, since my tuners are all mirrored i know composite 1 is always CCTV and S video 2 is always dvd changer. If you don't have all the cards configured exactlly the same you must find which card is which. So one by one connect the composite to the card and configure composite 1, the one that works can be noted. Then remove all the others or repurpose them for something else. Thanks for the info. I was able to get two of my cards working with composite set on each and they work fine. The last one is not working when I choose composite then do color cal. it shows a different channel but the color cal. says it is a different channel. Strange...
What are these 2 'expanders' that you mention? Thanks for the help! Brian

I don't understand your issue with the last one. For troubleshooting connect it to a VCR/DVD player so channel changes are taken out of the equation. Video expander for Hauppauge. http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_inf...cardstv-tuners |
