Moving recordings to imported dirs and metadata files, using SageMC

I've been playing around with recordings and imported videos. I'm currently using 6.3.10.

I have a script that periodically takes any movies I record, and moves them to a network attached storage drive which has a dir mounted as an import directory for "my videos". Regular tv shows remain locally on the sage server hard drive. My goal is to access all my movies through the "my videos" menu and not through any recordings menu. I've read the faq about moving files and it looks like sage recognizes the file has been moved to a new location. However a few problems arise.

1) SageTV Recordings still shows the movie
2) "my videos" does not contain the movie.

From past posts, it looks like sage just updates where the file is located in its database but nothing else.

I want to have the files in "my vidoes" so i can use SageMC16x9 an categorize my movies along with cover art and imdb info.

So I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this. Removing the
ID from the filename allows the file to show up in imported "my videos" but the file info is lost. Using plgin tools like Metadata_RW to generate my and properties files looks like a possible solution.

Are there any other ways to do this that I may have overlooked?

Does SageMC 16x9 have any way of doing this automatically?

I'd rather not reinvent the wheel unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks..

Moving recordings to imported dirs and metadata files

I've recently started using SageMC16x9 and think its an awesome product.

I've been doing reading and searching on the forums to do the following:

1) record movies and save IMDB info and cover art for each movie/recording
2) move movies to imported video dir and have the automatic categorization sort my movies

I set everything up to do the above with SageMC but have run into some problems.

The major one is that when a Sage recording is moved to an import dir, it does not show up in the import vide dir. This has to do with recording IDs attached at the end of the file. To get around this one can delete the id but then one loses all the recording info since Sage does not know about the recorded file anymore. To get around this .my files can be used and one can convert .my files to properties files too.

I can set up a script to remove the recording id and move the recording along with the .my file and cover art jpg.

My question is if there are any other automated ways to do this or is this the best route.

What are others doing to automate recording of movies and have them show up in the "My Videos" menu along with all its nice sorting and filtering options?

Thanks..
