priority control for multiple boards?
Is there a way to set a priority order when multiple video boards are used. I currently have 2 boards in the SageTV box, and 1 board in a SageRecorder box. The SageRecorder board is always listed as 'Sage 1' and winds up taping whenever ANY number of recordings is scheduled. Obviously I'd prefer to have the SageRecorder controlled board(s) listed last instead of first. Any way to RELIABLY set this up?

I believe that if you adjust the encoder_merit for the tuners in the properties file it will change the order in which they are selected. I haven't tried it so I don't know the specifics but I'd just try different values and see what happens.

That appears to have worked... sort of :P
They're still listed as... Sage 1 == networked PVR-250 Sage 2 == local PVR-250 #2 Sage 3 == local PVR-250 #1 but it schedules the cards in reverse order... AKA Sage 3 get's the first show, Sage 2, gets the 2nd, Sage 1 gets the 3rd. *shrug* good enough for now. At least now the network card doesn't get hit until absolutely needed.

what values did you end up using for the encoder_merit?

The higher the priority number, the first it will get used. If you have 3 cards with priorities of 1, 2 and 3, the card with priority 3 would be used first, then the one with priority 2 and lastly the one with priority 1.

Ok, so let's say I have two cards in my box.
Card one is connected to my cable box and card two is just straight coax. Channel listing for card one is setup for extended channels and I have a USB-UIRT for controlling the channel changes. Channel list for card two is just basic channels and I use the cards tuner for changing. How do I setup the priorities to ALWAYS ensure that I would use card two, first, if what I want to watch/record is on the basic channels? And ensuring that if I want to watch/record an extended channel that card one is always used? Thanks
