choppy deinterlacing after 6.3.10 upgrade

I just upgraded from 6.3.5 to 6.3.10 after seeing the thread that 6.3.10RC is now the official 6.3 version. I am using pureVideo and I unregistered the SageTV decoders. Whenever I watch anything that is an interlaced signal (CBS/NBC HD), the picture is not smooth. It's not choppy to the point where you can't watch it, but its clearly noticeable. I didnt have this issue with 6.3.5. My purevideo settings are the same and I see the icon in the start bar so I know its using the Purevideo decoder. Any suggestions short of going back to 6.3.5?

How are you handling audio?

I was getting some stuttering on 1080i after moving to 6.3.10.

I use SPDIF passthrough and after upgrading noticed purevideo was handling audio, which one would think would be fine since it is just passthrough. Not so much. Switched to AC3 handling it and 1080i was nice and smooth, switched back to purevideo and it came back. My seem odd, but switching to AC3Filter to handle all audio worked for me.

I'm using the AC3 filter. I also see that icon on the start bar, so I know its working. I reinstalled DirectX 9 and also rebooted my machine...still..watching College Hoops on CBS stinks. Not smooth, but not unwatchable..just annoying that every few frames the video stutters for a second..but no disruption in audio

Sorry couldn't be much help, but fwiw, CBS sports in general have given me the most diffuculty with stuttering, football and hoops, I can switch to NBC which is also 1080i with no problems.

I would run this again:

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\SageTV\Common\stvm2vd.ax"

just to make sure Sage decoder is unregistered, but if you have the correct icons in system tray, you are probably ok...

If still have problem,

Check that purevideo is set to "smart," if so and still have problem, open the purevideo playback and make sure it is not switching between video and film. You can change it to film which will almost certainly fix your issue, but now your frame rate is 30 instead of 60...which doesn't matter for i programming, since it is only 30 fps anyhow, but on p programming you are getting half frame rate...

I also get stutter using purevideo audio decoder and use ac3 as described above to fix it...

I went back to 6.3.10 and the interlacing issue seems to have gone away. It must have been the CBS feed. Anyways, over the course of a few hours of watching live TV and recorded shows, Sage TV crashed multiple times. I would be watching a show and suddenly I would be looking at my desktop. No idea why it craps out. Is there some level of logging I can turn on to see what happens before it craps out? I have since gone back to 6.3.5 until I get time to debug
