Same Source Two Lineups?

I'm using a network encoder and I'd like to setup two different channel lineups for it, however, when I do this it overwrite the first one I've selected. Is there anyway to have multiple lineups for the same source? Thanks.

Nope. You have to use a lineup from a different source. Many of us use a neighboring city's lineup for a second lineup or third lineup.

The functionaliity you are looking for has been requested for years now to be able to use one lineup and customize it for multiple tuners.

I really hope that functionality gets here soon.
To reduce tuning problems and because I've got enough OTA tuners to get all HD channels I care about (until the hauppauge capture device is released) I plan to dedicate a tuner to abcHD, cbsHD, foxHD & nbcHD. That way my tuners will never have to change channels. I'll need my local city and 3 neighboring lineups to complete this though.
I've been meaning to set this up. Maybe this weekend.

That's not how I read the OP's question. He's not trying to use one lineup for mutliple tuners. He's got just one capture device configured, but wants to assign multiple lineups to it. The question I have is why?

That's correct this is what I want to do. Say you have a sat receiver that also has cable going though it on one input to the computer. You want the one source to have two guides attached to it.

oh, the network encoder part confused me.

If you have 2 incoming sources, a satellite receiver and straight cable Coax, it is fairly easy to do.

You set up 1 connection for the STB and tell Sage to use the proper connection (composite, s-video, etc). then you put in your zip code and pick the lineup that matches the satelite STB, DirecTV, Dish, etc.

then, you setup the second connection for the cable connection. Hook it directly up to the tuner card and pick the cable company's lineup for that connection.

If you are trying to use the satellite STB to tune the cable coax and then record the cable through the STB's connection, I'm not sure the correct way to set up that lineup. Why do it that way when you should be able to use the capture card's internal tuner?

edit: How about a little more info on your setup, such as tuner card, network encoder setup, so we can better understand your setup and help you out.

It seems like this is one way but not the best:

Quote:
you can add two tunners pointing to the same ip port of the network encoder, BUT you will have problems if you have 2+ clients or like to do recordings
I could use XMLTV as well it looks like so maybe I'll try that.
