Weird Random Frame Line
I'm getting a weird random frameline that seems to occor only when watching live TV, not when watching something previously recorded. But the problem is stranger than it seems.
If I am watching a show in my Sage Server in one room (where the frame thing happens) and I also have that show on in the other room via Sage Client (no weird frame line), the delay time between the two computers will change as a show goes on. Such that, at first the Server will be a little ahead of the Client, but after about 30 minutes the Client is ahead of the Server, and to correct it I have to rewind a couple clicks then fast forward as far ahead as it will go on the Server. This leads me to deduce that for some reason the Server has a bit of a hickup, about every 20 to 30 seconds. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Oh, and I did run the performance tweaks, but that didn't change the weird frameline. Here is my setup: Server: Athlon K7 900Mhz 512MB PC133 Ram 14GB Maxtor UATA66 (OS only) 2MB Cache 120GB Seagate UATA100 64k blocks 8MB Cache on a SIIG UATA133 PCI card (recorded shows and swap file) ATI Radeon 8500LE 64MB DDR at 800x600 60Hz(tried different res or refresh or color depth, no luck) Using the most recent drivers from the ATI website. PVR-250 PCI Onboard Audio Windows XP Pro SageTV Server Dell 2100MP 800x600 DLP projector at 1x1 Client: P4 2.4Ghz w/HT at 800Mhz Bus 512MB DDR400 40GB Hitachi UATA100 2MB Cache 60GB Western Digital UATA100 2MB Cache nVidia Geforce3 Ti200 64MB DDR at 1280x1024 60Hz digital Onboard Audio Windows XP Pro SageTV Client Both are connected at 100baseT Ethernet through a switch. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks a ton, Z |
