On a related topic with the system info screen. I installed Sage 6.3.10RC (and shows the same version in control panel). However the system info window shows 6.3.9.
I am sure I did something between backing up/copying some of the property files...but am not sure how the system info gets that version number. Does it look at the property file or does it look at some system/registry settings or ???. Everything seems to be working fine...just worry's me a little with control panel showing 6.3.10 and sage saying 6.3.9. BTW, just installed my 2 extenders a few hours ago and they are good...but also show 6.3.9. Any thoughts. If I need to start a new thread...I can do that. Thanks! |

I moved your question here...
Are you talking about the line for the Software Version or Current STV File? If it is the software version, then you don't seem to actually be running v6.3.10. If it is the STV version, then you are probably still using a customized version of the previous STV -- the STV does not automatically revert for extender & Placeshifter clients, but it normally does for full PC clients. - Andy

Thanks Opus. I double checked and the "software version" is showing 6.3.9...even though I installed 6.3.10 and control panel shows the same...guess I am really running 6.3.9.
I will try to re-install 6.3.10. I noticed in one of the faq's it said it is not necessary to uninstall previous versions as the install will do that. However, every time I try that, it seems to work, but then Vista control panel will show 2 line items...one for the previous version and one for the new version. Any thoughts? Should I really un-install the previous version in Vista before installing the new version? |

Are you running Vista with UAC on or off? I run with it off and never had a problem installing a new version over an existing one.

I am running Vista with UAC on....probably should turn it off. However, I am afraid that may mess up my Sage since it is currently working fine.
Thought I read in one of the FAQ's how UAC on versus off caused some of the sage property files to be read from different locations (virtual store?). If anyone knows if simply turning off UAC will cause Sage settings/configs/SageMC to be lost...that would be a big help. Thanks! |
