Mine was delivered on Friday. It cost me $21 in taxes and handling fee.

Hooked it up and it worked great.

Now I just have to wait for my receiver with the r5000 mod to come back.

Hey Greg,

Let us know how you make out with the R5000. I am hoping to take the plunge with StarChoice STBs in the next couple of weeks.

(PS) Looks like we have great representation from SWO (London, Tillsonburg, Waterloo)

Just got mine at the post office. Will test it later tonight. Also need to cut the power cord and attach a correct plug for my country.

Got mine! Well it was here when I got back from a week out of the country..

Now if only I could get it to update the firmware... I've tried to update the firmware on mine and it just stays at the 'Checking for firmware updates' state for at least 5 minutes.

Everything else seems to be functional on it though including online content so I'm assuming there isn't a problem with the connection to the web.

Does it have direct access to the internet? I had trouble getting mine to update because I put it on my local network. Once I switched it to my internet network, I was able to update the firmware fine.

Moved my server to the basement over the weekend and connected my hd-100 to my Sony 42kfe via hdmi. The firmware update took about 20 minutes. I am currently only recording SD from a starchoice 401 box. I have a 505 hd box connected directly to the TV for HD. I will be looking at the new Hauppauge capture card when it comes out. I am using a sempron 1.8 with a pvr 150. Quality has been excellent so far.The link/activity light flashing on the front panel is a bit annoying. I am by no means computor savy and managed to hook all this up with little trouble. My worst enemy will be to leave things alone and not "tweak" things. The best part of the whole experience was the look of horror on my wifes' face when I unhooked the computer from the TV carried it downstairs and told her I had decided not to
record anymore. Some people say I have a sick sense of humour.

The downloads site was offline for some reason for a while last night, so try it again.

Looks ok, I'm updating now. The download of the firmware was quick. The flashing is not that quick At 35% now (2MB of 6MB).

I just posted my thoughts on the R5000 here:

In general I like it. There are a couple things to consider.

Greg
