DVD video shifted and right side cut off

Hi Guys,

Has anyone had the problem when playing a ripped DVD, the right side of the video is cut off? Not only is it cut off it's shifted, almost like sage is trying to play it in a 4x3 screen, however my LCD is a 16x9. I know the video works fine because it plays great on my STX-HD100 extender, which is connected to a 4x3 aspect ratio TV.

I checked and double checked the display aspect ratio setting, it's good, 16x9. I also made sure the video aspect ratio was set to "source". I've also tried different codecs i.e. powerdvd. Any help is greatly appreciated, this is the last nail in the "go ahead and get sage boxes for all the rooms" coffin!

Thanks!

I have had similiar issues using Overlay rather than VMR9 but it wasn't too extreme, just about an inch or so, you might want to try VMR9 if you aren't currently.

Also, are you using a VGA connection? On my LCD the picture would move all over as you describe when switching video sources, causing me to continuosly resync the TV. No issue using DVI.

Let me try that out, I haven't tried VMR9. No I'm using an HDMI connection, the picture is awesome for the most part, just ripped DVD's have the problem.

Hey Camus,

Thanks for your help, much appreciated! I put it on VMR9 and the darn thing looks awesome. Now time to order/build the other 3 extenders!
