ATI DVI-I to Component for Regular TV?

Does this adapter provide better output quality to a conventional television with component input? Does it even work?

Thanks in advance.

It works just fine with the ATI video cards that support it. I don't believe it will work with other brands.

And yes, the quality is much better than the s-video or composite. Well worth the $30 or so ATI charges for it assuming you have the proper card.

So this provides a benefit to even non-HD televisions?

If your TV has this input and is not HD compatible, I imagine it would still work. The TV probably is capable of diplaying 480i or 480p and the HDTV adapter will allow you to output either or both of those resolutions. 480 refers to the number of lines of resolution. Your picture should be sharper than the output provided by s-video which tops out at about 425 lines of resolution.

Cool, thanks, I'll give it a shot when the rest of my hardware arrives.
